Frequently Asked Questions
I was not offered a room but still really want to live on campus. What are my chances?
If you were not successful in the first round of offers for accommodation – don't despair! We will continue to perform lotteries after the initial offers are accepted and vacancies arise. This will happen on an ongoing basis after the initial offers are made. Please make sure you have set up your profile and created an application.
What do I need to bring with me?
You will however need to bring your own bedlinen. The kitchen comes with all appliances fitted such as a microwave, kettle, fridge/freezer, kettle and oven/hob but again, pots, pans, cutlery and cooking tools need to be personally supplied by each student.
If you’re travelling from afar and need bedding and kitchen equipment, it’s important to note that local stores have limited stock available on arrivals weekend. You can avoid the hassle of shopping by pre-ordering from our Partners at UniKitOut. Simply Shop Now to create your perfect move-in Kit. Your pack will then be delivered to your residence before you even arrive, making settling into your new environment a breeze. And don’t forget to use the promo code DCU10 for a 10% discount.
I have a medical condition and therefore require on-campus accommodation. Do I get preference?
Who will I be sharing with?
What if I change my mind or find alternative accommodation after I move in? Do I get my deposit back?
Once you have accepted an offer, you are required to give 28 days notice and held liable for the rent for these 28 days. Alongside this, a €100 cancellation charge will be deducted from your deposit.
Are meals provided/ is it possible to buy a full board package?
Meals are not provided by the accommodation office. Each bedroom allows use of a kitchen where you can prepare meals. There are also restaurant facilities on the All Hallows and Glasnevin Campuses as well as Campus grocery stores and coffee shops where you can purchase food and drink at your own expense.
