Frequently Asked Questions
I was not offered a room but still really want to live on campus. What are my chances?
If you were not successful in the first round of offers for accommodation – don't despair! We will continue to perform lotteries after the initial offers are accepted and vacancies arise. This will happen on an ongoing basis after the initial offers are made. Please make sure you have set up your profile, created an application and paid the €50 administrative fee.
I WAS NOT OFFERED A ROOM IN THE LOTTERY. IS THE €50 administrative fee REFUNDABLE?
Please note that there is a non-refundable administrative fee of €50 when you submit your application, regardless of whether you receive a room offer, and it does not contribute to the rent or security deposit.
I have been awarded a room in the lottery but what if I do not get my course at DCU in the CAO?
In the case that you are not awarded your chosen course of study at DCU and can provide proof of this to us, you are entitled to a full refund of your deposit. Your room cancellation should be made in writing to [email protected] prior to the move in date in order for this deposit to be refundable. A full refund of the deposit (minus the €50.00 administrative fee when making the application). This also needs to be done in writing prior to the move in date as after which the rent will be charged pro rata.
I have a medical condition and therefore require on-campus accommodation. Do I get preference?

Who will I be sharing with?
All rooms are randomly allocated - if you would like to share with a particular person, please contact [email protected] and we will allocate you where possible.
What if I change my mind or find alternative accommodation after I move in? Do I get my deposit back?
Once you have accepted an offer, you are required to give 28 days notice and are held liable for rent for these 28 days. In addition, a €100 cancellation charge will be deducted from your deposit.
