Incoming First Year Students

We look forward to welcoming you to live on campus in September 2021. The on campus experience for first year students is most rewarding when you have access to everything you need in the one location. 

Accommodation Locations

DCU operates teaching primarily across its three main campus locations at Glasnevin, St Patricks and All Hallows. 

Incoming 2021/2022 first year students can apply to stay on the Glasnevin and St Patricks College campuses. 

Application Dates 

Incoming 1st year students can make an application from Monday February 1st at 12.00pm by clicking here 

Applications close at midnight on March 19th. 

Allocations are lottery based and all applications are treated equally. 

Lotteries for 1st year accommodation will be performed on March 23rd where all successful and unsuccessful applications will receive an update. If you are unsuccessful in the lottery we encourage you to remain on the waiting list to be considered for all future lotteries. 

Term Length 

Semester 1 -  13/09/2021 - 14/01/2022 (123 nights)

Semester 2 -  17/01/2022 - 01/05/2022 (104 nights)

Full Academic Year - 13/09/2021 - 01/05/2022 (230 nights)

**Full academic year students occupy the room for the full 230 nights. Semester students occupy the rooms for one semester only** 

How to make an application? 

Incoming first year students are required to set up a user profile on our accommodation booking system. To set up a user profile click here.  

When you have completed your user profile, you can then make an application for accommodation from Monday 1st February at 12.00pm until midnight on March 19th.  

A refundable fee of €50.00 is required when making an application. This is transferable to your accommodation booking if you are successful in securing a room in the lottery process. The €50.00 application fee is refundable anytime up to move in day if you are unsuccessful in securing a room offer. Refund of the application fee must be requested in writing to
